On The Importance of Creativity

Creativity is the natural necessity to the human soul.

As I approach my later twenties, I have begun to realise the importance of creativity in our lives. It isn’t just an outlet from our lives as humans, but it is a window into our soul and the activities that make us happy. As I grew into adulthood, I grew less and less creative. This was in part to the job I held as an engineer, which was mundane and tedious, but also to the pressure to be good that I began to feel.

This is where creativity is lost. We find ourselves not necessarily chasing perfection, but trying to create such that others will admire the piece of art. But alas, creativity isn’t this. Creativity is allowing imagination to flow through our minds as children do. It is playing make believe in a way that your soul can become nourished by the flow of creation. The world has always needed creatives, yes. But perhaps we also need to be creative in our world.

We all should take the time to write, draw, and play as we did in our childhoods. For this is how we feed our souls and allow ourselves to take a step toward eternal happiness.
